Research on Non-destructive Testing Method for Aging of Sheds of Composite Insulators

Abstract As an important part of external insulation transmission and distribution lines substation equipment, silicone rubber insulators are generally used because their strong anti-pollution flashover ability, excellent hydrophobicity, lightweight. It is one the effective means to obtain aging degree sheds quickly accurately prevent operation accidents. From micro macro perspectives, firstly, this paper uses traditional scanning electron microscopy dielectric loss factor test classify 11 high-voltage side samples running on-site for 0~11 years. According different experimental principles, each method divided into four grades. Then, detection based on terahertz time-domain spectroscopy proposed realize a nondestructive evaluation grades insulators. Finally, through comparison, it can be found that THz absorption coefficient spectra find characteristic quantity classification levels materials: The increase, peak at 1.32 in show downward trend. quantity, also grades, results consistent with previous experiments.
